What to know about urgent care

Urgent care is a same day doctor’s office and is a good option if you want to seek acute care outside of Student Health clinic hours. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911. Urgent care is not an emergency room.

Call ahead to see if your chosen location accepts walk-ins or requires appointments.

Bring your insurance card to your appointment. This card should have information about urgent care co-pays listed.

Considering the time of year, you may have some wait time. Call ahead if you want to know about your location’s current wait time.

To decrease your chances of getting sick, get a flu shot and learn how to stay well as seasons change.
